Kaspars Perskis

Kaspars Perskis was born in 1975 in Riga, Latvia. This is where he studied painting at the Art Academy of Latvia and was granted a Master’s degree in 2006.

He has contributed to exhibitions since 1994, and his works are part of private collections in Latvia, Russia, the USA, Japan, and several European countries.

Kaspar’s mysterious portraits and his expressive thematic compositions — so characteristic of his manner — create a very special spirit of changing times.

The unifying motive of his paintings is a human creature in a certain abstract environment, with his specific emotions and experiences perceived as a meditative reflection, thus creating this particular surreal feeling of a timeless existence.

An observer has a chance to meet an ironic eagle dressed in a coat and a cylinder hat and sporting a medal, as well as to slip into a theatre backstage of another epoch, or to meet a girl looking like a mannequin.
