I come from a small town in Latvia. It was intuition and destiny that led me to painting as no one in my hometown could possibly imagine that one was able to earn a living by just being a painter. For years, I painfully tried to adapt myself to fit others’ expectations until at one point I realized the inevitable: painting was my life.

My passion for colours that I put on the canvas with a zeal of a 15-year-old boy might seem overly vivacious and spontaneous to an outside viewer. However, my works are always a result of meticulous "eye thinking", hard work, and a thorough study of every single bit that many generations of artists have achieved before me.
